Chris Sapyta knows about moving things. In 1996 he launched MicroStar Keg Management, which moves kegs for breweries. Last year, he and investors launched Smart Move, which helps people relocate without losing their stuff. "People that move don't understand their goods are moved in and out of the truck several times," he said. Not so with Smart Move. The company uses containers called SmartVaults, which customers load and lock themselves. Smart Move contracts with Overnite Transportation (a logistics company that UPS recently acquired) to move the containers to the customer's new location. Then the person has two weeks to unload, and Smart Move picks up the empties. Smart Move uses GPS technology to keep precise track of each of the containers.
