How large are SmartVault portable moving containers?
Each vault is approximately 7 feet high, 6 feet wide and 7 feet long. Interior dimensions are
6'9" high, 5'10" wide and 6'11" long.

Are SmartVaults moving and storage units weather-resistant?
Yes, SmartVaults moving and storage units are highly durable and weather-resistant. When sealed, the vault will protect your assets from the elements.

Do I need to be home when my portable moving containers are delivered?
Yes, you need to sign for your vaults when they are dropped off and when Smart Move picks them up for delivery to your new home. If you cannot be there, you need to make arrangements with someone you trust to sign for the your portable moving containers in your place.

Are pick up and delivery dates guaranteed?
Yes, our moving portable storage system and logistics are guaranteed. Simply choose the days that work best for you and Smart Move will pick up and deliver your vaults on those days.

How long will it take for my portable moving containers to reach my destination?
Delivery depends on the distance of your move. Smart Move guarantees delivery of its moving portable storage units from coast to coast in 10 days or less.

How many moving boxes can I pack in one Smart Vault?
One SmartVault typically can hold the amount of moving boxes and belongings that are equivalent to a small apartment, dorm room, or one to two rooms in a home.

Can SmartVaults portable moving containers be delivered in increments of two or three?
Yes, however, we recommend standard delivery of five vaults at once to avoid additional trip fees. If you don’t use all five, simply contact Smart Move to pick up the unused moving and storage vaults.

If I ordered two vaults but I only need one will I be charged for the other?
No, our moving portable storage system is fair and economical, you are only charged for the vaults you use. Smart Move will pick up any unused vaults at no cost to you.

Do I need to provide my own lock to secure my portable moving containers? What kind of lock should I use?
Yes, you need to provide a lock for each SmartVault you use. Any standard key or combination lock will work.

Does Smart Move provide moving and storage assistance?
Yes, Smart Move can arrange for a team of certified professional movers to help you pack, load, unload and unpack your moving boxes to and from our SmartVault portable moving containers. Moving assistance is available in all of Smart Move’s moving and storage service areas.

Is valuation coverage provided?
Yes, valuation coverage is included at no additional cost to you for all of our moving portable storage systems. For each SmartVault you use, Smart Move will provide a $10,000 valuation policy.

Are moving pads refundable if I don’t use them?
Unfortunately it is not possible to provide a refund for unused pads once they have been delivered.

How does your pricing compare to other self moving companies?
Smart Move’s moving portable storage systems offer superior-quality, and secure moving and storage solutions marked by industry-leading valuation coverage. Pricing often is competitive with similar service providers.

How much does your portable storage cost?
The first 28 days of storage are free. After that, storage fees per vault are $3/day.

How long can I leave my belongings in portable storage?
You can store your belongings as long as you like. Smart Move provides both short- and long-term storage options.

Will I be able to access my vaults?
Yes, you can access your portable moving containers in storage so long as your account is paid in full. Simply contact a Smart Move customer service representative to make arrangements.

How much does moving and storage plans cost?
Smart Move’s moving and storage pricing depends on the number of portable moving containers used, the total distance required for delivery, and any additional services provided.

How will I be billed for moving and storage services?
Payment is due the day prior to delivery to your new home or office if you are paying by credit card. If you wish to pay with check by phone - payment is due 5 days prior to delivery. Or, if you need portable storage, payment may be made 28 days after you initially receive your vaults. If you decide to keep your portable moving containers longer, a daily storage fee will be applied starting on day 29.

What moving and storage payment options are available?
Payment may be made by credit card the day prior to delivery or with check by phone 5 days prior to your vaults being delivered to your destination.

Are there any hidden charges for your moving and storage services?
Smart Move’s quotations for our moving portable storage services include vault rental and delivery fees and coverage protection. Additional fees may be applied for packing supplies, professional moving assistance, or in situations where stairs or an elevator require additional assistance. Additional fees also may be applied if storage exceeds 28 days.
